Urgent Help .. Motivation Letter for MBA .. Application Deadline next Tues
March 10, 2005
Dear Sirs:
I am writing to apply for the Full-time MBA Program in ***.
After completing the MBA Program, I plan to look for an extended work and life experience in Asia and especially in China. My objective is to put the professional experience cumulated so far as well as the additional business acumen and cultural insights I will gain from attending your MBA program at the service of companies looking for professionals who can successfully manage the challenges posed by the rapidly integrating global business environment.
I have a Master Degree in Production and Management Engineering from the Politecnico of Milano, Italy. I have graduated with a work entitled ”A Multi Agent approach to the Integrated Supply Chain Planning”. The work was part of a larger research program aimed at evaluating innovative approaches, based on multi-agent systems theory, to the integrated planning of supply chain networks. Twenty months of research work produced results that served as basis for later investigations about how a agent-based approach to supply-chain planning can possibly be utilized to real-life applications.
After graduation and upon completion of ten months of compulsory military service by the *** army, I’ve joined ***. (NYSE: x), a global technology leader in communications, electronics, life sciences and chemical analysis, in ***, Germany.
During my four-year employment at *** *** I’ve accepted different responsibilities in the supply chain management arena, spanning from functional roles to more cross-functional / project management roles. In particular I’ve worked for two and a half years as Strategic Planner, experience that taught me the importance, for companies like *** which are listed in the NYSE, of mastering the sales & operations planning processes to deliver accurate estimates of their financial results to the investors; in my responsibility there were the management of the production planning and scheduling systems as well as the management of the production planning processes; once acquired more business seniority I also assumed the responsibility of the demand planning process, that consisted in creating monthly sales forecasts, on the base of inputs coming from marketing and sales, which were driving material purchases and capacity-sizing decisions. During my last one and a half years at *** I was assigned more project management responsibilities. In particular I led a team of four people responsible to implement in the German branch Oracle Demand Planning as part of a the company-wide rollout of Oracle e-Business Suite (11i – ERP). I also led the participated at the ERP rollout in the Swiss branch as Oracle-APS lead.
In *** 200x I left *** *** to join *** (NYSE: x) Supply Chain Management Practice as Consultant. During my first year at *** I participated to the following projects: for a large-size global provider of packaging solutions and high performance materials I have designed a new company-wide sales forecasting process and defined the requirements for a demand planning tool; for a mid-size European aircraft maintenance & engineering company I have supported the definition of requirements for a production scheduling and capacity planning tool; for a large Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer I have supported the implementation of a Demand Planning Tool.
The time I’ve spent so far at *** has permitted me to add breadth (different industries and different supply chain challenges) to the depth of the professional experience that I had acquired at my previous employer’s and therefore I am now ready to further develop in my global business career.
The next step I’m thinking of is to have a professional and life experience in Asia and your MBA program can help me to do that through its world-class business teachings and the opportunity to have learn more about the Asian culture and business environment in general which I think is a pre-requisite for good career prospects in the Asia.
I will contribute to the program with my strong academic background, my professional experience in global corporation working at innovative supply chain projects and my international as well as personal profile (five years of life abroad, mastering of five languages, my life experiences cumulated traveling to North America and China, my humanitarian volunteering experiences in Africa and Germany and my social skills).
Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward to your positive response.
Sincerely yours,
*** ***
