UpsideDown

This is one of by best, it was written in 1988, tell me how you find it:

Upside down (1988)

If only I were a dove,
I would have engraved peace everywhere,
If only I were an olive tree,
I would have given everyone a piece of me,

If only you could forget,
Every tear, every fear, every sorrow,
If only you could see,
In front of you, sky, nature and sea,

If only everyone were black,
And white were everyone,
If only the word ‘racism’ had no sense,
To win your mind I would have a chance,

If only you gave me your hand,
Towards heaven we would have gone together,
If only we were attached to history,
It would be inculcated on a rock

If only prophets were understood,
Misunderstanding would have no sense,
Through darkness you would have sought,
Life that is like a shining sun

If only life were a gentle summer breeze,
A baby would not grow in emotions,
If only our world were united,
Never our knives would wound.
