Can anyone tell me which is the correct word? Have I written the sentence correctly?

I just noticed that you are asking about using capitals. (Capitals and upper case are the same.) It is best to use lower case, not because it is easier to read, but it is considered to be more polite. Upper case is often considered to be a bit rude, like shouting at someone. You would, of course, use upper case to begin your sentences.
