Upper case/lower case

Hi, just would like to confirm that do I need to use the upper case for "Army or lower case "army" ? Thank you.

1. While Korea is occupied by the Japanese Army in 1933, the resistance plans to kill the Japanese Commander. But their plan is threatened by a traitor within their group and also the enemies' forces are hunting them down.

2. When Korea is occupied by the Japanese army, the Provisional Government tasks three experts - a sniper, a young military man, and an explosives expert - with the assassination of the Japanese commander.

Interestingly, the first few googled pages do not use that term at all, and I would guess that other branches of the Japanese military were also involved. I suggest using 'the Japanese military regime' or 'the Japanse forces'.
