For example:

"I was looking for something to pass the time with and I stumbled upon (discovered) photography. Now it is my passion and I spend every free minute on it."

The phrase, "quest upon photography," does not make sense.

and "quench upon photography" I have no idea. What is the context?

2) After learning the basics of photography, I quenched upon photography to become a photographer.

Correct grammar, but the second part does not make sense with the first part..
