Uphill ascent too steep

How would you phrase this please? What would you change please?

I don't mind living in the hills. I just don't like it when the uphill ascent is too steep. If the the slope street I'm living on is at 20 degrees and the ascent up the hill is gradual, I don't mind.

Thanks
