I was in the field of customer support. The Past Tense suggests you are not in this field anymore. Is that correct? If not, say 'I am'.

I need an update What do you mean by 'an update'?

to make the customer cool when he is in frustration. Better to say something like

to make the customer happy/relaxed when he is frustrated.
