Dear Teachers,

1. What's the difference between "he was gone" and "he had gone"?

2. Does "what are you up to?" mean "what are you doing now?"?

3. Does "what's on your mind?" mean "what do you think?"?

4. I'm in a good / bad mood today.

- This means "I'm sad / happy today", right?

5. It's getting dark out.

- This means "It's getting dark outside", right?

Thanks very much to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

"What are you up to?" can also mean "What misbehavior are you planning?"
It can suggest that you believe the other person is doing something or is about to do something that they should not be doing.
