Up a storm

Can I say that my dad talks ‘up a storm’ to emphasize that he talks a lot and with a lot of enthusiasm?

Would ‘sweat up a storm’ sound natural in a conversation or would you be more likely to come across the phrase in a magazine?

Thank you.

'talk up a storm' is OK in AmE.

'sweat up a storm' does not seem natural in conversation or writing.
