up

Hello, everyone, ..

In the following statement, what does up mean? Is it an adjective or an adverb?

"The decorations were up from spring until fall."

I know one could ask "what's up" to ask what happened or what is wrong. But this one above sounds different.. .

Thank you.

In that context "up" means "displayed."
