Unusual punctuation?

Hi, I was just wondering if I'd need a comma or a semi-colon before the line "I am not at ease", it's part of a series of haiku and it's a bit difficult to try and work out as it's so unusual.

Now this trying pain
Cuts into my wretched heart
And it will not stop

Until I create
An immortal world in verse
I am not at ease.

Thanks in advance!

I seldom see semi-colons in poetry. In my opinion, they can sometimes add an air of fussiness to writing. If you really want to signal a pause, I'd recommend a period.

Thank you! That works a lot better. I was also wondering, is a comma necessary before and as it seperates two independent clauses?

You could put a comma there if you want the reader to pause briefly at that point. If you don't, then don't.
