unusual grammar

Hi,

This piece of text is taken from a British Council podcast:
‹ Look, it’s not ten o’clock yet. I’ll go the room and take the note off the door and explain to…. who? ›


Note the words in bold/italics... the noun 'room' is used here as if it were a direct object... is it a stylistic technique? or what? or just a typo? (= missing 'to')

By podcast are you saying that that is how you heard it, or how you saw it transcribed? It might be hard to hear the "to" in rapid unarticulated speech.
