0I concur that the verb /got/ is "an English thief" (Clarkheller 2006). We need to avoid its use whenever possible. This rule is #19 of the "Clarkheller 35 Rules" contained in the text ESL DOXOGRAPHY. I highly recommend you read the portion regarding /got/ /get/ /gotten/ and /do/ /did/ /done.02br
