Depending on what is meant, it should be written:
As of today, she hasn't come back. [No, she hasn't come back yet. And we don't know when she will come back.]
She isn't due back until today. [We expect her back today and we didn't expect her any sooner.]

Thanks, Doctor D. What word then should be added in the original sentence to make it the same meaning as:

As of today, she hasn't come back.

and possibly,

She isn't due back until today.

If I tweak the sentence a bit, is the meaning clear?

She has never come back until today.

You cannot simply add words to make the sentence come out correctly. You can keep the order but you need to change the wording.

She hasn't come back as of until today.
She hasn't come back until yet although she is expected today.

No, that sentence is bad.
You can say:
She never came back until today.
That means that she came back today but not at any time in the past.
