"It looked like we were going to win the tournament until we played against the orange team."

Does this mean that the team looked like they were going to win the tournament, but once the game against the orange team started, it did not look like that anymore?

Or Does it mean that the team looked like they were going to win the tournament, but once the game against the orange team ended, it did not look like that anymore?
