Unthinkable

Hi,

Can I use the word unthinkable this way:

A: We shouldn't go there, it's too dangerous!
B: That's the only way, we just have to pass the pavement and we're there.
A: Your idea is unthinkably stupid!

Also

A: I wish I was rich!
B: That would be thinkable if you had studied when you were young.

Thanks.

EDIT: Can the word 'unimaginable' do the job in the first example? It's possible to my ears.

Top answer

Unthinkable is fine. Thinkable is no good unless jocularly coined. Unimaginable would work fine, too.
