Unsure of following sentence

Which one is correct?

"Wouldn't it be amazing if this became a reality"

or

"Wouldn't it be amazing if this becomes a reality"

I did a search for both sentence in Google and the second one had more entries but I think the first one sounds correct...

"Wouldn't it be amazing if this became a reality?" implies that there is little chance of it happening, like winning the lottery jackpot.

The second sentence would be more grammatical as

"Won't it be amazing if this becomes a reality?" referring to an event with a real possibility of happening, like your team winning the league championship.
