Hi teachers,

What does"unspoken for " here mean?:
"Though she is 30, she is still unspoken for"

It's awkward. You've already indicated her *** by using the pronoun "she."

You would have to hyphenate "unspoken for" - but I recommend against doing this.

You simply say "She is not spoken for."

If you already know that Mary is a girl, do you have to say "Mary is a happy girl"? No, you can say "Mary is happy."

If you already know Tom is amn, do you have to say "Tom is a tall man"? No: "Tom is tall" is just fine.
