Unsighted

"Juventus attacked down the left flank, where Mandzukic pulled the ball back to Dybala who was running unmarked across the face of the penalty area. He whipped a wonderful curler just inside the post past the unsighted Ter Stegen." (The Guardian.)

Is "unsighted Ter Stegen [a goalkeeper]" sort of 'blind' or is unseen by goalscorer Dybla in the context above?
