"My friends think that you are crazy." "But you have no friends." "But If I had any friends, they would think you were crazy." My question is regarding the third sentence.The first two sentences just give the context. In the third sentence do we have to write "you were crazy" instead of "you are crazy" ? I know this is an example of mixed conditional but do we have to change the tense of the entire sentence ?

Technically , were is probably the better choice. But many, many people use the present, as that condition still continues.
