unprotected cable

How would you phrase this and what are the correct words?
My laptop charger is so old that the cable is naked unprotected and when you touch it you can feel the electricity /current in the cable.

Thank you

What if it doesn't give you shocks, you can just feel it running through the cable.

How would you say that please?

Thanks in advance

You can feel the tingle of electricity.

My Laptop charger is so old the the conductor in the cable/Flex has become exposed such that you get an electric shock if you touch it.

We often refer to naked flames when we want to refer to them as unprotected or exposed.

Hi Rover,

Would you also say 'naked cables' or just 'bare cables'?
Thanks
