I'm not sure what your intent is ("Unless....makeup" is not a complete sentence).

She would look nicer if she didn't wear so much makeup[?]

She wouldn't look nice unless she wore much makeup[?]

Does either of these approach what your meaning is?

Oh I'm so sorry I misquoted the sentence, Philip. Actually it is 'Unless she wore so much make up, she would look nicer'.

This is a case where unless and if ... not ... are not really equivalent.
