Unless is the water is cool .... Grammar construction

Hi there !

I've read an article and there was a sentence "Unless is the water is cool there's no refreshment" . And I'm a bit confused about the "<Unless> <to be> <smth> <to be> <adj>" construction of the sentence.

So I have several questions and they are :
1. Could I say Unless the water is cool , bla bla bla

2. If I could what would be the difference between those two sentences.

3. Can I use the "<to be> <smth> <to be> <adj>" not only after UNLESS ?

4. Can I use smth like "Unless am I am eloquent I can peform on the stage" ?

thanks in advance !

Anton.

Hi,
"Unless is the water is cool there's no refreshment"

The first 'is' is simply a mistake.

(You also need punctuation.)

Thanks for your replies , but again... I got mixed up :

At first u say : "I am not surprised you are confused the phrase is not grammatically correct".

And then u suggest - "Unless am I am eloquent I can't perform on the stage" could be correct ...

See Clive's reply for the correction to the original phrase.

Unless something is something - the original phrase was incorrect as it had an extra 'is' in it.

Erf - Sorry yes I see the confusion. That should read 'Unless I am eloquent,. I can't ......'

Unless I get better reading glasses I won't be able to write comp
