Hello

If there is the word "unless" in a sentence, is it possible to use "will" after it?

For example: ...unless failing to take recovery actions in due time will be or is the result....

So, is it possible to use the future tense after the word "unless" in a sentence?

thank you

Hi, Generally, we don't use will , the future tense, after unless. For example: I will not buy it for you unless you promise to behave. " However, this is acceptable: I will not buy the dress for you unless you promise that you will wear it.

Hi,

Generally, we don't use will, the future tense, after unless. For example:

I will not buy it for you unless you promise to behave. We don't say, "unless you will promise."

However, this is acceptable:

I will not buy the dress for you unless you promise that you will wear it.

Hi

So I understand that we don't usually write the first verb after the word "unless" in the future tense, however, it's possible to do it with the other verbs in the same sentence.

take care
