Unkempt, collide

When I go for a run and another runner accidentally runs into me, what could I say instead of 'run into me' ? The runner just ran into me. (maybe collided with me, this sounds a bit formal though)

Thank you. Probably a silly question.

Is the word 'unkempt' used for places as well or only to decribe plants?
