University motivation letter

Good day. I wonder if anyone could do me a favour and help with a motivation letter.
It's not really a genuine letter, as I don't understand how to write it. Moreover, I do have problems in writing any essays or letters, even as I am working as a translator.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m applying to your Master’s Program in Translation and Interpretation, starting in September, 2014. My career ambition is to become a Master of Arts in Translation. Having reviewed several postgraduate programs I am confident that XXX University has an excellent translation program that best meets my goals and intentions.

I graduated from YYY, COUNTRY in 2011 and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation. I wonder if I need to write about my University in details

The five years I spent at my University formed the basis of in-depth knowledge in the field of translation, interpretation, and linguistics. I chose to study languages and dedicate my life to translation because I believe the language is the key to understand other cultures. Also, I want to make my knowledge of languages more profound to help people understand each other, to develop intercultural relations between my country and the rest of the world. I am fortunate to have an exciting opportunity to apply as a postgraduate student in XXX University, for, as far as I learned, having conversations with many European fellow students, the University is equipped with the distinctive and extensive library collection, attracted the most creative and educated tutors, especially in the area of translation and language teaching. In addition, XXX University is ranking within the top 100 on indicators measuring research productivity and quality, which gives me hope to be connected with the most brilliant scientists and researchers.

As I mentioned above, I was graduated in 2011 and I’ve been working already for three and a half years as a technical translator and interpreter, mainly in aviation and construction spheres. My working background involves a history of cooperation with Rolls-Royce, BBA Aviation, “Aerosystems, Russian Federation”, Alstom Grid France, Toshiba, interpretation in the world-known innovation center Skolkovo in Russian Federation. *I had an experience of education through translation, but I don't really know how to describe it*

When I started my career in 2010, I understood in a short time that all theoretical information I was given during my bachelor studies is quite insufficient due to the lack of new methods and theories of translation, as well as the lack of courses, dedicated to the translation software and automation tools.

I’ve been told that XXX University is an open, committed and pluralistic university with a broad international perspective and research-inspired educational programs and I am confident that the program, that was designed to provide students with the expected knowledge, background, and skills to work as translators, either on a freelance basis for an agency or as employees within a company, could help me to build a prospective career. With so many dedicated professionals, I know I could gain top knowledge at the avant-garde of translation. Yet I believe I can make a significant contribution to the classes, especially given my working background.

Given my background, I believe I could bring a new level to the program by helping fellow students with my academic and practical skills.
