University?

Hi,

Thanks for helping me. Understand we say "This is a good university", or "The top universities", but don't understand why we say "Going to university is important" and not "Going to a university is important" or "Going to universities is important"? How does it work, I'm confused.

I think this a really complicated field and I am not qualified to answer you in an entire manner, but let me tell you this:
"A" and "the" are used for for specifying things, no determiner is used when you are talking about something in general.
For example:

"Going to university is important", means: studying in general is important.
