units of measurement

Hi everybody!

I’m currently working on a translation project. It is a Russian culinary web-site. I'm aware of a specific units of measurement used in American and British culinary practice. While it is clear to me how to convert fluids, I wonder how to deal with dry substances like sugar or flour. And for example, 200 g shrimp, or olives. Shall I convert it into pounds or ounces?

Thanks in advance

I don't think it's necessary to convert metric to English system any more in this kind of situation. If you wish to, though, any weight under 454 gms would probably best be converted to ounces and anything over 454 gms to pounds & ounces or pounds & fractions thereof.
