Unincorporated

Hi
What is an "unincorporated ghost"?

[...the thread] hangs from right to left when the offering is to the ancestors or to an unincorporated ghost

Thanks in advance

"ghost" is sometimes used to mean "spirit" or "soul", and according to that point of view, we all carry with us an incorporated soul/ghost. Maybe the OP's question arose from a reading of something written from that viewpoint.

It is also interesting as a very literal use of "incorporate", where the "corp" part literally refers to a body.
