Vocabulary

unify

I am not sure if I used the word 'unify' properly.
In the Czech Republic where I am not from there has been a transitional period of replacing old fashioned ID documents with smart new ones with memory card.
Is it correct if I say the Home Office unify the different types of existing ID documents and provide citizens with new ones of the same type?
No?
What would you say then. Integrate? And?

Any mistakes spotted in my letter?

How about "consolidate"? If before, people had to have multiple documents and will soon be able to have only one, that seems a good choice.

Thank you both.
Two good pieces of advice.
