Vocabulary

unfortunate mole

Hello!

Can you please help me with the following? I am confused with the adjective-unfortunate here.

She was a plump woman with an unfortunate mole just above her right eyebrow. Black hairs shot out from it like bristles.

Does it mean that her appearances were unfrotunately spoiled by the mole, ie that she - unfortunately had a mole? Or that the mole was ugly?

Thank you

Top answer

That she had a mole in an unfortunate-- that is, very prominent-- location.
