I have been facing severe issues of favoritism & nepotism last 3 yrs. We were 4 staff under one supervisor and at that time the work was well organized and running very smoothly. Since one new staff joined us 2 yrs back and he has family relations with our supervisor, Hence the act of favoritism & nepotism is now highly concerned with our department. Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to bring your attention some serious problems in the Tender Coordination Department. The cooperative spirit which existed in this team, and had made it highly productive has been injured by the practice of extreme favoritism between our supervisor, Mr. Janish, and his nephew, Jarin, who is a team member. Jarin joined the team two years ago, and since then, the situation has been deteriorating, so much so, that I have resolved to register a formal complaint.

Mr. Janish gives all the easy assignments to his nephew, or the plum assignments on which he can get priority for salary increments or promotions. Here are some examples. On May 5, Mr. Janish gave the best customer account, Solid Goods, Inc. to Jarin. The rest of the team got the most difficult accounts to struggle with. Last week, I had just about finished the order to Halogen Materials. It was very complicated, because it had several items that were in very short supply. Just before completion, Mr. Janish took it from my hands and gave it to Jarin. Jarin will get the credit for all the work that I did. Further, we get no encouragement from Mr. Janish, but he spends a lot of time coaching his nephew and helping him get ahead.

Now our working relationships are chaotic and unproductive. The team is in disarray, and we do not coordinate or share the load effectively. I have never in my ten years in the job, seen such low morale.

What I am asking is for you to verify this situation with my colleagues, and transfer Jarin to another department where he is not supervised by Mr. Janish. That would benefit the organization and put our team back to recovering its former condition. I also would recommend that Mr. Janish be transferred as there is a lot of bad blood between him and the team members. My colleague, Mr. Samish has the most seniority on the team. He would be a great supervisor. I would recommend him to be in charge of the team.

Thank you for your kind attention. I will be most cooperative in resolving this issue.
