Unethical methods of advertisements

Some of the methods used in the advertisements are unethical and unacceptable in today’s society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, people are bombarded with advertisements in which a number of morally wrong and unaccepted approaches are adopted, and I completely agree with this statement.
Firstly, some companies in commercials make false promises and exaggerate products to apprise their sales and earn profit, although the results of these commodities differ enormously in reality. For example, Maggie Soup, a product of Nestle India Limited, was endorsed with a message of 'Happy Heart, Healthy Soup', which created impression that consuming this soup leads to healthier heart. However, on testing, it has been found that it contains high level of sodium which causes hypertension. Therefore, these kinds of advertisements are not according to the standards of this society and deteriorate people's health.
Secondly, surrogate advertising is prevailing on many TV channels and newspapers, and it encourages people to take in substances that are banned by law. Companies, for example Kingfisher and Bagpiper, who manufacture alcoholic drinks come up with different other products like soda in the market under their marques to keep their names afresh in the minds of the consumers. Besides, tobacco advertising is also unethical as for manufacturers it is necessary to put a statutory note on cigarette packets that it is injurious to health and yet they print alluring graphics to attract youth for smoking. Thus, these potentially dangerous advertisements affect the well being of people in a negative way.
In conclusion, I reiterate that certain ethically wrong and unwelcomed ways are followed in advertisings which detrimentally impact the health status of individuals.
