undone

Yesterday while I was going to school, I left my zip on pants undone. When I entered in the class, everyone laughed at me and I couldn't understand why they are laughing. Then some of my friends gestured me to my pant and I looked down to see my zip undone. I was really ashamed in front of the class.

Please correct my sentences.

Except in the UK, where we typically only use 'zip'... and, as you know, we would say 'trousers' instead of 'pants'.

Thank you Clive and Lil Ruby rose.

My zip is done up.

If I want to say "close the zip", can I say, "do your zip up". Also can I say, "My zip is up" to mean "My zip is done up".

Hi,

Yes, and yes again.

In the UK, you'd let someone know their zip was down by whispering to them, "Your flies are undone". Is that the same on your side of the world, Clive?

Hi,

No, the term 'flies' or 'fly' is not at all commonly used.

Oh, that's interesting Clive. "Psst. Your fly is down" was not an uncommon thing to say where I grew up. But "fly" is singular, not plural. Another interesting US/UK difference, I guess.

A UK euphemism is 'you're flying low'.
