Undo

A voca and proper expression in sentences.

My son broke or damaged something first, then fixed it, and says, 'I fixed it' or something. Instead of telling him that you did fix it, how to say you only restore or undo what it was or should be. Is 'undo' the proper one or there is some better expresstions?

Top answer

If you break or damage something, the common term is then 'I fixed it'. 'Restore' is a less common term, often used in an artistic context, eg restore a damaged painting or a antique chair. After we fix something, we often say flippantly 'Now it's as good as new '.

You can't use "undo" to mean "fix". No. That's impossible.
