Undeveloped countries

Is it correct to use the phrase: "undeveloped countries"? Is it a complete synonym to "developing countries" or "underdeveloped countries"?

Thank you very much, GPY! I've mentioned "undeveloped countries" in an essay at the Cambridge exam but then,I started doubting that it was grammatically correct.

It is grammatically correct. There is no problem with the actual English; it's just that it has more negative connotations.
