Vocabulary

underway, carry out/go on/to be in progress

Hello,
Do the sentences below sound natural to you:
- An investigation into his disappearance is being carried out.
- An investigation into his disappearance is underway.
- An investigation into his disappearance is in progress.
- An investigation into his disappearance is going on.

I realize that there are differences in meaning, but to the sentences sound natural enough?

Thank you. Emotion: smile

They sound natural enough, but some sound better/more correct than others: underway and in progress are the best, then being carried out, then going on.

I agree. However, I think "go on" and "carry out" can be used in everyday speech, no? Emotion: smile
