undertake ..

Q : define undertake ...
I saw some dictonary about it ...but still confuse ....Now . I just know ...1. undertake means you do something , or the job something that you do ...... I am not sure .......2, undertake means take on something ..such as , an entrepreneur take on risk to do business....... these are my understanding about undertake ....Do I understand properly ???thank you for helping me ....
