Understood/misunderstood to mean?
Hi! everyone.
Could someone tell me whether there is any difference in the meaning of the sentences below?
He understood the word "New constitution" to mean that the constitution that would bring them freedom.
He misunderstood the word "New constitution" to mean that the constitution that would bring them freedom.
