understanding song lyrics?

0 A native speaker English friend of mine said he could hardly understand a few english song lyrics on performance. Is it true of you too? Admittedly, I can't understand some singers and song lyrics other than those of Jazz, country, and the hardest is "hard rock". It sounds like a load of rumble. Why is that even natives can't understand some Enlish song lyrics? 0-
