Can somoen help in this:

The growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and resources dedicated to the endeavor.

Does this sentence mean :

the growth rate of a project is generally related to the amount of time and the amount of people dedicated to the endeavor.

(in this case it wold be wrong because of "amount of people")

or doest the sentence mean

the growth rate of a project is generally related to the amount of time and related to the people dedicated to the endeavor.

I thought the same but I encounter some place where it was discussed that this sentence should be read be read like below.

The growth rate of a start-up business is generally related to the amount of time and (amount of ) resources dedicated to the endeavor.

What does logic tell you?

The growth rate relates to resources. Wouldn't you assume you had to have some way of quantifying the resources?

The more time and the more resources dedicated to a projet, the more it will grow (generally speaking).
