Understading or comprehension?

Hi!

by closing an e-mail , when I usually write something unpleasant, I often write:

"thanks for the understanding"

"thanks for the comprehension"

Are both correct? the "THE" can be omitted?

Thanks

Hi,

'Thanks for understanding' is OK.

But I usually see and write 'Thanks for your understanding'. It seems more personal.

Thanks! It is clear to me..

"Thanks for your comprehension" is not possible in any case?

Hi,

No, definitely not.

'Understanding' here has a meaning related to kindness and empathy.

'Comprehension' does not have that meaning.
