Undershadow

Hi,

"She catches him talking to the twins and is shocked to see that he finds everything they do really cool. She thinks that he, as a former high school nerd, is living his cool fantasies through his kids."

What does the sentence in bold mean?

Katherine stares angrily at Bree, maddened by the fact that she herself is being undershadowed by her.

What does 'undershadowed' mean here?

Thanks.

"Undershadowed" is nonsense (unless it's a deliberate inversion of the actual term, overshadow). The meaning that holyduke gave for "undershadowed" is actually (kind of) what "overshadowed" means; I have never seen or heard anyone say "undershadow".
