Underlining a movie title?

Do you put a movie title in italics or do you underline it?

Top answer

Underlining seems like a bad idea. I like italics for the titles of movies, books etc. Alternatively, just put it in plain text with suitable capitalisation.

I use "***" for movie titles. Italics or underline for book title. This is from my instruction during the Middle Ages, so it may be out-of-date by now.
