Underlined word - correct in the context?

Hi!

Is the underlined word correct in the following context?

The final grand concerts will be held at several capital cities of Europe at the end of the summer and main prizes ensured by the sponsors will be raffled during them.

Perhaps this is a usage of "ensure" that has passed me by, but to me it does not sound correct.
