UNDERGO

I looked up UNDERGO in Cambridge Dictionary Online, I understand the meaning but what I want to know is if this verb can be used for both people and objects or maybe just for people.

UNDERGO: to experience something which is unpleasant or which involves a change. Emotion: hmm

Thank you.
