Under the dome

Is this paragraph natural?

Under the dome is a TV show about a town who is mysteriously cut off from the rest of the world by an invisible barrier in the shape of a dome which has descended over the town. When the dome descended on the town, anything on/in the dome's edge/perimeter was served in half. The dome's edge happened to descend on a house, breaking the house in half. Had the lady been standing on/in the dividing line, she would have been severed in half....

Do I have to add 'perimeter or edge'? I'm not sure whether to use edge or perimeter or descend or breaking the house in half or dividing line.

Could you tell me how you would write this?

Thanks
