Uncountable camp

I came across this in David Denby's review of a new Joan Crawford biography.
It's a new one on me, although I've probably read it and let it slide.
I'm wondering if any of you consider it part of your lexicon?

Crawford quickly hardened into the remorselessness of camp --- the image of a dictatorial harpy,
sister to Maleficent, the wicked fairy godmother in Disney's "Sleeping Beauty."

Thanks, - A.

term=camp Probably meanings 3 and 4, which sound about the same to me, though 4 is written better. Avangi part of your lexicon? I've heard it before somewhere or other, so I guess you could say it's a part of my passive lexicon.

  • I wouldn't know how to use it appropriately in a conversation so I wouldn't even try.
