I felt uncomfortable driving a gas guzzling German vehicle around school, dodging cyclists left and right as If I were the only Axis power in a World World II film.

It's odd to compare yourself to an Axis power, because 'the Axis powers' were countries, not people . I don't understand why you say 'the only' .
