Yes of course, that would be if one is directly addressing the person. What I meant was if h/she is the subject of the conversation. Please don't think this as an offensive question as I am plain curious. Topics like these are not very openly discussed where I live.
I understand... Well it's "she/her" if she's a woman, ans "he/him" if he's a man. Now, if they (want to) get operated, it would be nice to them to refer to them according to the *** they want. I'm not sure I'm quite clear...
Benita, I'll try to expand a little on Pieanne's answer. In general one would call a male homosexual (or "a gay man") "he," and a female homosexual (or "a lesbian") "she." In certain circles, some gay men might call each other "she," (I have only seen this in movies) but I think that would be acceptable only among their own group, and certainly not common to all gay men.
